In the event that no Fleet Captains are present in any race, a board member may act as official Race Committee for this event. In the absence of either, race host are expected to abide by this NOR, the SI, the RRS and the best interests of AYC.
NOTICE OF RACE
1. RULES
1.1 The races will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2005-2008, the RRS as applied by the Nadeo VSK5 Umpire, and the AYC Sailing Instructions.
1.2 The match ladder series will have strict enforcement of NPC no penalty cancels. No protest will be heard regarding section 2 of the RRS.
1.3 In the event of a conflict then the AYC Sailing Instructions shall govern.
1.4 The official language of this event is English.
2. CLASS
2.1 Boat sailed will be determined by the host of the race.
3. REGISTRATION
3.1 Registration is open to Racing Fleet Members of the AYC.
3.2 Pre-registration is not required for this event.
4. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
4.1 Please refer to the AYC Calendar for hosting times.
4.2 Fleet Ladder Races shall not be conducted in competition with any scheduled AYC event.
5. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS and OFFICIAL NOTICES
5.1 Sailing Instructions are posted on the AYC website.
5.2 Notice to competitors will be posted in the news section of the AYC website.
5.3 Official communications from race committee will be made in the vsk chat panal.
6. FORMAT
6.1 Hosting Procedure
6.1a Hosts shall have the host server running a minimum of five minutes prior to the official first warning gun.
6.2b The host will be responsible for submitting scores and screen shots.
6.2 Starting Procedure
6.2a The starting sequence for all match races shall be five minutes.
6.2b Any players not in the race by the final restart will not be allowed entry.
7. COURSES
7.1 If no courses are available the host may choose courses.
7.2 All courses must have the first leg being a beat to windward.
7.3 Offset bouys, gate bouys, and finish bouys must be seperated by 5 parralel spawn points.
7.4 All bouy roundings except where a gate is present shall be to starboard.
7.5 Minimum course length shall be 2 nautical miles, but no longer than 3 nautical miles.
8. SCORING
8.1 The Bonus High Point System will be used.
8.2 Ladder Points for this event will be scored as a "Fleet Race."
9. COMPETITORS OBLIGATIONS
9.1 All Competitors recognize that they shall enter and compete in this series in the spirit of the Sailing Instructions, the Racing Rules of Sailing (with particular notice drawn to RULE 2), and the mission statement of the AYC:
